PNG to DXF converter online

LineWorkCAD turns a PNG (or JPG) image into vector lines and curves and exports them as DXF, SVG or PDF, ready for CNC, laser cutting, plasma or vinyl. Everything runs in your browser: your image is never uploaded to a server.

How to convert a PNG to DXF in 4 steps

  1. Open the image. Drag your PNG, JPG, BMP or WEBP onto the screen (or press “Open DXF / SVG / image…”). It is vectorized automatically.
  2. Tune the result. In the “Vectorize image” panel choose the mode (color or black and white), the algorithm and how much to simplify. You can set the final width in millimeters so the drawing comes out at real size.
  3. Clean up the drawing. “Fix” closes gaps and trims overshoots; “Recognize shapes”, “Straighten”, “Smooth” and “Reduce vertices” leave clean outlines with few points.
  4. Export. Save as DXF, SVG or PDF at scale.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting PNG to DXF free?

There is a free trial with all features: 3 downloads (DXF, SVG or PDF) and 3 uploaded images. After that you can stay on the basic plan (view, draw and save projects) or subscribe to Pro for US$ 4.99 a month or US$ 45 a year to export without limits.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Vectorizing happens in your browser. More details in the privacy policy.

Does it work with photos or only logos?

It works with both, but the best results come with high-contrast images: logos, silhouettes and drawings. With photos, use black and white mode and adjust the threshold.

Does the DXF come out at real size?

Yes: you set the final width in millimeters in the vectorizing panel and the height follows the image proportions.

Is it suitable for CNC, laser and plasma?

Yes. Even so, always check the file before cutting: automatic conversion may need adjustments depending on the image and the job.

Which other formats does it support?

It opens JPG, BMP, WEBP, DXF, SVG and .lwcad projects, and exports DXF, SVG and PDF.
