Convert image to SVG online

LineWorkCAD vectorizes a PNG or JPG image and exports it as SVG, with lines and curves you can scale without losing quality. It also exports DXF and PDF at scale. Everything runs in your browser: your image is never uploaded to a server.

Open LineWorkCAD and convert to SVG

How to convert an image to SVG

  1. Open the image. Drag your PNG, JPG, BMP or WEBP onto the screen; it is vectorized by itself.
  2. Choose the mode. “Color” draws the borders between color regions; “Black and white” traces the outline of dark silhouettes (with “Invert”, the light part is the drawing).
  3. Adjust the detail. “Max. colors” decides how many colors are searched for, “Simplify” reduces vertices and “Recognize lines, arcs and circles” stores as an exact shape what almost is one.
  4. Check with the background image. You can draw the original image underneath the vector to compare and see the deviations.
  5. Save as SVG. Layers keep their color and line type.

What vectorizing is for

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between vectorizing and changing format?

A PNG or JPG image is made of pixels. Vectorizing turns it into mathematical lines and curves, which can be scaled without loss and edited point by point.

Does the SVG quality depend on the image?

Yes. Logos and high-contrast drawings give clean results; photographs produce many outlines and should be simplified.

Is it free?

There is a free trial with all features: 3 downloads and 3 images. After that, Pro costs US$ 4.99 a month or US$ 45 a year.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Vectorizing happens in your browser. More details in the privacy policy.
