Vectorize a logo for laser cutting or CNC

A cutting machine needs closed outlines, with no duplicates and few vertices, at real size. LineWorkCAD vectorizes your logo, checks for those problems and exports it as DXF or SVG. Everything runs in your browser: your file is never uploaded to a server.

What a cutting machine needs

How to prepare a logo, step by step

  1. Open the logo (PNG, JPG…). For cutting, switch the mode to Black and white (silhouettes) and adjust the threshold until the shapes are well defined. With “Invert” you choose whether the cut part is the dark or the light one.
  2. Set the final width in millimeters so the drawing comes out at real size.
  3. Clean up: “Remove specks” deletes stray dots; “Simplify” and “Reduce vertices” leave few points; “Smooth” removes the teeth of pixelation while keeping real corners.
  4. Fix: “Fix” closes gaps, trims overshoots and checks crossings. The error circles mark what it could not fix on its own.
  5. Convert what is almost exact: “Recognize shapes” turns almost perfect curves into exact circles and arcs; “Straighten” aligns almost horizontal or vertical segments.
  6. Measure and export. Check the dimensions with the dimension tools and save the DXF.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Which format does my machine need?

It depends on the software. DXF is the most common in CNC, laser and plasma; SVG is accepted by many laser and design programs. LineWorkCAD exports both.

Are gaps fixed automatically?

Small ones are: “Fix” closes them. Those it cannot solve are marked in red so you can connect them with a button.

Is my logo uploaded to a server?

No. It is processed in your browser. More details in the privacy policy.

Is it free?

There is a free trial with all features: 3 downloads and 3 images. After that, Pro costs US$ 4.99 a month or US$ 45 a year.
